Regent International College opens its first branch school in Minuwangoda
On request of parents in Minuwangoda Regent International College (RIC) ceremoniously opened its first branch school ‘Regent Preschool’ on August 22nd 2017. Regent Preschool- Minuwangoda like its parent school in Gampaha is a well-equipped purpose built school consisting of Kiddies Swimming pool; Children’s play area built to International specifications, Kiddies Computer and Multimedia room and open theater dance/music hall. The Preschool has classes from Nursery to Grade 1 and conducts the internationally aligned and modern teaching practices of the Regent AMI Preschool curriculum preparing students for both English medium local syllabus and London Edexcel syllabus at RIC Gampaha.
Regent Preschool- Minuwangoda was declared opened by Chief Guest Dr. Frank Jayasinghe the pioneer in introducing International School Education to Sri Lanka. He also serves as the educational consultant for RIC and is the Founder/President of ‘The International School of Sri Lanka’ (TISSL) Association, Founder/Principal ‘College World of Education’ and the Founder/ Principal of Wycherley International School bringing years of invaluable educational experience and insight to RIC.
The cutting of the ribbon and unveiling of the plaque of Regent PreschoolMinuwangoda was done at 10.02 am to the soothing melodies of the RIC Western band under the direction of teacher in charge Mr. Sudintha Dilan. Next the Chief Guest was accompanied into the premises by RIC Managing Director Anura Gunasekera and Principal Ms.Wickrama Arachchi where Dr. Jayasinghe registered the first student of Regent Preschool Minuwangoda Branch. RIC Prefects guild honoured the chief guest in a guard of honour, followed by a hearty song and yell performed by the RIC scout troop under the supervision of Mrs. Kaushalya Peiris. The event also featured a beautiful Pooja dance item performed by RIC Grade 2 students under the coordination of RIC Head of Aesthetic Mrs.Inolka Perera.
