Tikiri Pola of Kuda Kusum BMV Bandarawela

Tikiri Pola of Kuda Kusum BMV Bandarawela sponsored by Seylan Bank was held on 26th September 2017. Students of primary section from Grades 1 to 5 participated in this fair selling vegetables, fruits,sweets, flower plants etc. The balloonman on a bicycle andthe icecream seller werethe most attracted people among the kids. The students learnt how to do transactions.

The chief guest Prasad Wadugodapitiya – The Area Manager of Seylan Bank Uva and Sabaragamuwa region, Mr.Rukmal SumithrarachchiThe Manager Seylan Bank Bandarawela branch, the principal Mrs. M. W. Sunethra, the board of vice principals were welcomed by the students with sheaves of beetle along with the school band.

At the beginning of the New Year vacation, all students were given tills by Seylan Bank to collect money.Students were encouraged to deposit the till collection and the money they collected from the fair. The value of saving practice was insisted among students. The highest depositors were given attractive prizes to encourage saving habits.

There was a raffle draw at the end of the fair and ImandiSadewma of Gr. 1 won the 1stprize and won a bicycle. ChamathkaHasari of Gr.4 won an electric organ as the 2ndprize. Seylan bank also offered ten special prizes and many gifts such as school bags, bottles, mugs, etc. for the stu- dents to motivate saving.

This event was coordinated by Mrs.Rukmali Gunarathna, the Assistant Branch Manager with the guidance of the Deputy Principal - Primary section Mrs. K. K. D. Nirmala Kanthi. Sujitha Miranda
