Six out of ten for B.A. San­jeewa

Sri Lanka’s lead­ing am­a­teur golfer cur­rently, B. A. San­jeewa, clearly dom­i­nated the Pin Fer­nando Grand Prix 2017, Oc­to­ber edi­tion with some scin­til­lat­ing golf over the three round 54 holes event.

San­jeewa fired a 7 un­der par first round, fol­lowed by a five un­der par sec­ond round and closed the Oc­to­ber edi­tion with an em­phatic 10 un­der par, three round to­tal, win­ning by four strokes from the con­sis­tent J M D Indika who re­turned three two un­der par rounds to se­cure the run­ner- up berth. San­jeewa stretched his Grand Prix monthly edi­tion wins to Six out of 10 played so far in the CAT SO­LAR pow­ered Grand Prix Rat­ings 2017.

San­jeewa fur­ther em­pha­sised his po­si­tion at the top of the Grand Prix Rank­ings col­lect­ing 400 points out of a max­i­mum of 450 avail­able in the three round Oc­to­ber edi­tion. J M D Indika proved his con­sis­tence re­turn­ing three rounds of two un­der par each to clinch sec­ond place on six un­der par, whilst an­other se­nior lead­ing am­a­teur Amara­padma se­cured the third place with 214.

The top play­ers are well geared up and ready to clinch the 130th Sri Lanka Am­a­teur Golf Cham­pi­onship 2017 com­ing up in Oc­to­ber from the 14th. The 36 hole fi­nal is sched­uled for the 19th Oc­to­ber 2017. In­dia, Pak­istan, Bangladesh com­prise the in­ter­na­tional chal­lenge and Sri L a n k a wo n the Cham­pi­onship last in 2012 when N.
