Modelling Workshops for “Signature Stylish Marketer 2017”

The Future Marketers Association, which is the student body of the Department of Marketing Management, University of Kelaniya has begun its preparations for the one and only Inter University Fashion Show “Signat u re Stylish M a rk e t e r 2017” for the 8th consecutive year. The Department of Marketing Management of University of Kelaniya, which is well known for its high standards, dynamism and the intention for continuous development, organizes this event annually with the intention of creating a platform to enhance the innova- tiveness and talents of the students by providing them the opportunity to participate in a fashion show which would enable them to express their ideas and views to the society at large.

Wi t h the conclusion of the 1st audition for both Model and Designer categories for Signature Stylish Marketer 2017, steps have been taken to conduct workshops for the Male and Female Models in order to learn proper stage techniques and choreography, as well as stage presence and confidence. The workshops were conducted on the 27th of September and 4th of October 2017 at the Unive r s i t y p remises. Undergraduates from the University of Kelaniya, University of Peradeniya, Uva Wellassa University, University of Visual and Performing Arts, University of Ruhuna, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, University of Colombo and University of Moratuwa were among the participants at the model workshops.

Fashion designer, Model Manager, Model Trainer, Choreographer and franchise holder for leading fashion shows in Sri Lanka, Mr. Brian Kerkoven, joins hands with Signature Stylish Marketer 2017 as the main choreographer for the grand finale. The models are being trained and guided by Mr. Brian Kerkoven, who has been in industry long enough to be able to share the knowledge in the field and catwalk experiences and happens to be the main choreographer of Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Earth contest for the past few years. His continuous support through- out the journey of Stylish Marketer has produced models who are very successful in this particular field and regularly seen on major catwalk shows while some have moved into acting circuits and are generally at the top in the relevant fields.
