NSBM Green University Town, the foremost degree awarding body in Sri Lanka, is now in operation in the lush greenery of Pitipana, Homagama with a student body close to 9,000. NSBM offers Business, IT/ Computing, Design and Multimedia degree options. Keeping with the NSBM tradition of building up a fully- fledged graduate with not only the theoretica­l knowledge gained at the class room, but also, the expertise obtained by engaging in sports and other extra-curricular activities, soft skills training, community work and much more, the NSBM students are seen occupied with many tasks of various nature. It is with the same wish, that the students visited an elder’s home and a less-privileged out-of-Colombo school, to help out in their own capacity.

NSBM students celebrated the Children’s Day and Elder’s Day which fell on the 1st October with acts of kindness.

The Community Service club of NSBM visited the Bekkegama Vidyalaya, Pandura on the 2nd of October, to deliver school chairs to them. The little ones were really happy to see the gifts and they performed various entertainm­ent items to please the NSBM students and lecturers. Community Service club of NSBM engages in similar activities frequently to extend their helping hand to the needy.

Leo Club of NSBM organized an Elder’s home visit to colour the Elders’ Day, to clean up and donate various items to the needy on 1st of October 2017. They visited an Elder’s home situated in Wijerama, Nugegoda, and spent the day helping the elders by cleaning the facility and giving them company.
