Launch of “Techniques of Securities for Bank Lending with an insight to Life & Times of a Banker”
Mr.M.C.V.Rajanathan, Senior Banker released his publication titled “Securities for Bank Lending with an insight to Life & Times of a Banker” recently at the Auditorium of the Centre for Banking Studies, Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
Mr. Rajendra Theagarajah, Joint Deputy Chairman, Cargills Bank and Chairman, Ceylon Chamber of Commerce who was the Chief Guest, in his address commended the contribution made by the Author in his four decades of Career in Banking especially as Head of Credit Administration at various Banks.
Mr.Rienzie Wijetilleke, former Chairman/MD of Hatton National Bank, Mr. Prabhu Mathavan, MD/CEO of Cargills Bank, Mr.Faizal Saleih, former MD/ CEO of Amana Bank, Director Cargills Bank, Mr.A.N. De Silva, Director HNB and Mr. P. J. Jayasinghe Director General of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka were among the distinguished invites who graced this event. A large number of invitees from the Banking fraternity were also present at this event.
Mr.Rajanathan commenced his Banking career with HNB, and thereafter, after his retirement from HNB, continued with his Banking journey with Pan Asia Bank, Union Bank and Amana Bank as the Head of the Credit Administration Divisions of the aforesaid Banks. He is a Senior Lecturer, attached to the Resource Panel of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka and Centre for Banking Studies, Central Bank of Sri Lanka. Presently he is in charge of the Training and Development arm of Cargill Bank.
This publication covers all important aspects connected to Security for Bank Lending, its Operational aspects and mitigation techniques. He has generously shared his vast experience for the benefit of the present day bankers. In addition, he has also given an insight to the Life & Times of Bankers of yesteryear who were not fortu- nate to have the luxury of Advanced Technology, enjoyed by the present day Bankers.
Mr.Rienzie Wijetilleke, former Chairman and Managing Director, of HNB in his “Foreword” states this book has been well written and is a “MUST READ” for all present day bankers. Mr.A.N.De Silva, Director, HNB, in his address, in reviewing the publication stated this book covers all important aspects connected to Security for Bank lending and is an ideal text book for the bankers engaged in Credit assignment in executing their responsibilities with proper understanding.
Mr.Faizal Saleih, the former MD/CEO of Amana Bank recognized the contribution made by Rajanathan, in setting up the Credit Administration Division of Amana Bank which was a new entrant to the Banking Industry. Mr.P.J.Jayasinghe, the Director – General of the Institute of Bankers, in his opening address recognised the contribution made by Mr. Rajanathan, being a Trainer and Senior Member of the Resource Panel of the Institute of Bankers in sharing his vast expertise and appreciated his immense contribution to the Institute of Bankers in imparting his knowledge.
Mr.Rajanathan in his address thanked all invitees for their presence and stated it has been his cherished dream to share his knowledge for the benefit of the bankers. It is towards this objective he has ventured into this publication without the expectation of any monetary benefits and to contribute towards a worthy cause as all sales proceeds goes to the Sri Lank Cancer Society.
