“Dharmayuddhaya” reaches 100 days
The Sinhala version of the box office recorded Malayalam thriller film, ‘Drishyam’ (Visual), “Dharmayuddhaya” will reach 100 days on October 21 and the film is to be screened till October 26.
At the end of 84 days, the film which screened at 56 centres and 14 other theatres had grossed Rs. 175 million. At the end of 12 weeks the film was seen by over 825,000 patrons.
‘Drishyam’, the original movie was written and directed by Jeethu Joseph as a Malayalam movie and it was released in 2013. The film remained the highestgrossing Malayalam film of all time until ‘Pulimurugan’ was released in 2016.
‘Drishyam’ remade in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi. ‘Dharmayuddaya’, the fifth remake was directed by Cheyyar Ravi and produced by the Capital Maharaja Organisation Limited.
The film stars Jackson Anthony and Dilhani Ashokamala, Thisuri Yuwanika, Vinumi Vansadhi, Kumara Thirimadura, Kusum Renu, Douglas Ranasinghe, Ananda Athukolara, Ariyasena Gamage, Awanthi Aponsu, Wasantha Kumarasiri, Nirukshan Ekanayake and Tharanga Bandara in the main cast.
The story of “Dharmayuddhaya” revolves around Harishchandra, a selfmade businessman who is loved and respected by all in the area. A dedicated family man, for Harishchandra his wife and two children are his most valued treasures of his life.
But with an unexpected sequence of events, the happy and peaceful family is devastated. Due to a stranger who enters their lives, their happiness is shattered unexpectedly.

Priyantha Colambage’s latest cinematic venture ‘Dédunu Akasé’ is now being screened at EAP circuit cinemas around the country. Scripted by Tharaka Herath Damunumulla and Priyantha himself, the film revolves around a young couple. Samudra and Vihangi are two young and beautiful students who are studying at a higher educational institution. Samdura is the youngest son of an affluent family and he is a playful and funloving young lad. Vihangi and Samudra are studying dancing and aesthetic subjects and both are bright students involved in learning western and traditional dancing styles.
Vihangi is the daughter of a traditional dance teacher. From the day his wife passed away, Vihangi’s father sacrificed his entire life to look after his daughter.
