-

The MCA Tournament Committee was placed in a tentative situation due to the prevailing weather conditions. The MCA Tournament Committee under the Chairmanship of Sujeeva de Silva for the third successive season is currently grappling with the MCA’s top League - the 25th Singer MCA Premier League 2018 .

It is a race against time, the MCA tournament committee has to complete the tournament by end of October 2017. The MCA was given a window by Sri Lanka Cricket, with an assurance that none of the SLC tournaments will be conducted during the months of September and October 2017, thus giving opportunity for the club players to turn out for their respective institutions.

The tournaments got off to a start on September 9 and was constantly interrupted by bad weather; the match programme was turned in to a virtual droughts board, matches hurriedly getting postponed. After consulting with the venue managers the tournament committee has come with the under mentioned rescheduled programme: Sunday, 22nd October / Qualifiers At Colts - Winner QF 1 Vs. Winner QF 2 At MCA - Winner QF 3 Vs. Winner QF 4 Wednesday 25th October / Semi Finals At MCA - MAS Unichela Vs. Winner Q 1 At NCC - Commercial Credit Vs. Winner Q 2 Thursday 26th October / Reserve day for the semi finals Sunday, 29th October – Final at MCA. The third leg of the Premier League is the T-20, for which dates and venues are under discussion.
