Harsha, Shashin put BRC on top

Unbeaten knocks by Harsha Vithana who cracked 80 inclusive of four boundaries and three sixes and Shashin Dilranga 79 with seven boundaries and a six against Panadura SC in the Premier Emerging League cricket tournament played at the BRC ground.

The pair associatin­g in an unbroken partnershi­p of 136 runs for the fifth wicket guided BRC taking first lease of the wicket to make a score of 233 for 3 when play stopped for tea.

Sameera Sandamal and Rusiru Rajapakse shone for Kalutara TC as they cracked unbeaten half tons to help Kalutara TC make steady progress against Galle CC in the match played at the Galle Stadium.

The duo’s knock helped Kalutara TC taking first lease of the wicket to make 187 for 3 in the second session of play on day one.

An unbeaten half ton by Supeshala Jayatillek­e saw Moors SC batting first make 179 for 4 against Ragama CC while Dilhan Cooray’s unbeaten knock of 84 helped Badureliya CC make steady progress against SLPA CC at Bandaragam­a. (Sameera Sandamal 80 n.o., Rusiru Rajapakse 70 n.o.)
