Law College to host International Moot Court Competition next year

-

The Sri Lanka Law College will be org anising an International Moot Court competition, based on International Commercial Arbitration, from April 5- 8, 2018, at the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies, Colombo.

The competition titled “HV Perera QC Memorial Moot Court Competition”, will be the first ever Moot competition organised and hosted by Sri Lanka, on an international level.

Encouraged by the success of the National Moot Court Competition held in March this year, which was the first ever National level Moot Court Competition, the Moot Society of Sri Lanka Law College has taken a step further to position Sri Lanka on the WorldMooting map.

The National Moot Court Competition championship award was named after legendary Queen’s Counsel Herbert Victor Perera, which title is now being used by the Moot Society to re-brand the competition from the National Moot Court Competition, to the HV Perera QC Memorial Moot Court Competition.

The event will be conducted in association with several organisations including the International Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka, SAARC Arbitration Council, Bar Association of Sri Lanka, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Institute for the Development of Commercial Law & Practice, and Network for International Law Students.
