An increased number of Higher Education establishm­ents world wide are now focusing and recruiting young adults who have been exposed to civil and community engagement. Possibly as a benefit of community learning is that

young adults are far more likely to stay engaged if they can see that their contributi­on and participat­ion is effecting change. This assists young adults to appreciate and realise that they are able to make a significan­t contributi­ons to society through civil and community engagement.
