Vacation ownership offers from Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India

Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd with Ideal Retreats (Pvt) Ltd have introduced the concept ' Club Mahindra' to Sri Lanka offering Sri Lankans a choice of vacations in resorts abroad and in Sri Lanka.

According to Richard de Zoysa, Managing Director, Ideal Retreats ( Pvt) under this scheme, "you plan your holiday ahead and the benefits of your membership revolve around flexibility. Your holidays are pre paid for 25 years with an annual maintenance fee; therefore your cost of seven days of your annual holiday plan remains constant from the first year to the 25th year".

The local company is part of the Ideal Group of Companies which is the sole agents for Mahindra & Mahindra automobiles in Sri Lanka. A timeshare (or timesharing) is also considered another form of vacation ownership.

A media release by the local company quoted Ideal Group Chairman Nalin Welgama as stating that inbound tourism especially from India was foremost on the company's agenda when Ideal Retreats was incorporated. "It is at this time that we were also negotiating an alliance with Club Mahindra Holidays to represent them in Sri Lanka and we succeeded in partnering with them," he added.

Founded in 1996, Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd is the leisure and hospitality arm of India's Mahindra Group. Mahindra Holidays is the largest vacation ownership company, outside the US and offers quality family holidays to its members.

Pankaj Agarwal, Head Customer Acquisition - International Business, Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India Ltd, speaking during last week's launch of the event, said that as at September 30, 2017, the company has over 225,000 vacation ownership members and operates 53 resorts across India and abroad and its subsidiary, Holiday Club Resorts Oy, Finland, a leading vacation ownership company in Europe has over 50,000 members and 32 resorts across Finland, Sweden and Spain.

"We plan to start with our sales office through Ideal Retreats and look forward to having a Club Mahindra property in Sri Lanka in the coming months. We are already in touch with the OZO group of hotels to start the first tie up for our existing members," he said.
