According to the journal of educational and instructional studies of the world (August 2014, Volume: 4 Issue: 3 Article: 02 ISSN: 21467463) it was stated that university students’ satisfaction with the physical environment and services provided in a higher education institution is an indicator of quality in higher education.

“The mission of the college to deliver the highest quality educa- tion is paramount” emphasized Mr. Victor Ramanan, Deputy Chairman/CEO of NCHS

Nawaloka College of Higher Studies

NCHS is a provider of globally recognized higher education qualifications. Located in the heart of Colombo, the NCHS campus consists of modern facilities, providing students with an international learning environment. With a strong commitment to provide high quality education, NCHS offers distinctive benefits that are tailor made to suit the needs of each individual student.

Local and International Commitment to Quality

Taking pride in its quest for quality, the college has partnered with the global leaders in educa- tion, the Swinburne University of Technology as well as the California State University. Through the partnerships, NCHS offers a plethora of subjects to the students. The partnerships also eliminate most of the obstacles that prevent students from studying in their dream destination. When enrolling at NCHS, the student will simultaneously be enrolled at the international university of choice.

“The partner universities were selected due to their commitment to high quality education” Mr. Ramanan explained.

Personalized Attention

In order for the students to succeed, the need for personalized attention is emphasized. At NCHS, students enjoy smaller classes, focused learning and one-on-one time with the teachers, giving every opportunity to succeed in studies. It was stated that due to the small numbers in the classroom, teachers are able to personally interact with all the students, and give attention as needed.

The study programs conducted at NCHS are identical to that of Swinburne, Australia and California State Universities and follow the same curriculum, methods of teaching and evaluations, ensuring high quality and international standards. Thereby, NCHS adheres to the quality assurance benchmarks set locally as well as globally.

“We constantly look into how we can update the curriculum” added Dr. Alan Robertson Dean of Studies, NCHS. He explained that keeping the NCHS staff up to date with education methodology is a focus area. It was explained that this ensures that students are well taken care of and thereby their success is ensured.

Preparing Successful, Employable Graduates

These identical industryinformed and industry-engaged study programs at NCHS are specially designed to combine rigorous academic studies with practical knowledge essential for the academic and career success of the students.

“The learner centric programs assure that the students know how to handle the course” Kathleen Drew, Head of Department, Foundation and Pathways, Swinburne University of Technology said. “We teach our students to be knowledge curators. The education process is not entirely about what they learn in the class. It is about what they learn overall” added Pauline Farrell, Director of Education Leadership and Student Experience at Swinburne University.

Students will be exposed to resources directly from the partner universities such as the Library, Laboratories made according to global specifications as well as virtual access to lectures at the partner universities.

Student loan facilities at special interest rates are also on offer to help students pursue their higher education at NCHS.
