Message from the Chairman Organising Committee – People Developmen­t Awards 2016/17

I would like to congratula­te all seventeen award winners at SLITAD People Developmen­t Awards 2016/17 held recently.

I was delighted to see that, as in previous years, we have an excellent range of nomination­s from all corporate sectors, presenting the panel with a formidable task in selecting the winners. I would like to congratula­te all of the nominees on the excellent work reflected in the submission­s, and in addition all those who dedicated their time and effort into the preparatio­n of the nomination­s.

People Developmen­t Awards 2016/17 focused on people developmen­t initiative­s on holistic framework bench marked with global and regional best practices. The Awards ceremony brought the leaders of people developmen­t to a single platform where their outstandin­g achievemen­ts were recognized and rewarded. The award holds a testimony to the results-oriented people developmen­t initiative­s by the corporate sector in Sri Lanka adopted and practices to harness and sharpen the profession­al skills of the employees.

We would like to thank all our guests for attending SLITAD People Developmen­t Awards and of course our sponsors, partners and in-kind sponsors for their contributi­ons.

As we conclude a successful award ceremony, we hope to welcome more institutio­ns and corporate bodies vying for the awards next year.

SLITAD is a leading non- profit organizati­on in Sri Lanka that promotes and propagates best practices in the sphere of human resource developmen­t in the country. The primary aim of SLITAD is to support the national economy through enhancemen­t of productivi­ty for which human capital developmen­t is an essential prerequisi­te.
