Message from the President, Sri Lanka Institute of Packaging

It is indeed an honour to give a message on the occasion of Asia Star/ Lanka Star 2017 Awards Night.

The Lanka Star Awards were initiated by the Sri Lanka Institute of Packaging in 1987 in order to give recognition to all companies which are involved in packaging and excel in new packaging innovations to meet requirements of the global market.

The Asia Star Contest for excellence in Packaging was initiated around a decade before Lanka Star contest was stared . Only the Winners of National awards from Member organizations of the Asian Packaging Organization are eligible to submit entries for the prestigious Asia Star Awards contest conducted by the Asian Packaging Federation.

As the Sri Lanka Institute of Packaging is hosting the APF Annual Events 2017 in Sri Lanka from 10th to 14th December 2017, Judging of Asia Star Contest will be held at Galadari Hotel , Colombo on 12th December 2017 and the Asia Star Awards presentation will be held jointly with Lanka Star 2017Awards presentation on 13th December.

I wish to thank the chairman of the Organizing committee of the Awards Night Mr. Rohan Wijesinghe and the Co-Chairman Mr. Dharmatilake Ratnayake who also chaired the Lanka Star Contest committee for org anizing these events with the dynamic committee, not forgetting the dedicated staff at the Institute ‘s office.

I must also thank the Judges for a job well done and the sponsors for their support to make this Awards Night a memorable one.
