- By M. Shamil Amit

Now dumped national vice captain Lahiru Thirimanne cracked an unbeaten 134 inclusive of ten boundaries and two sixes as he along with Sameera de Zoysa helped Ragama CC make a recovery on day two against CCC in the Premier League Tier A inter-club cricket encounter played at the CCC ground.

The pair shared a valuable 94 runs for the fifth wicket when Ragama CC was struggling with their top four batsmen back in the pavilion with just 89 runs on the board.

The partnership paved the way for Ragama CC to get past their opponents score of 273 as they went into the tea break on the second day on 279 for 9.

An unbroken 99 run stand for the eighth wicket between Janaka Sampath and Dilshan de Soysa enabled Army SC to continue their domination against the much fancied NCC in the match played at Panagoda.
