Possessing a bachelor’s degree in English is a very rare opportunit­y which will equip you with multidimen­sional skills that can be used in a wide range of contexts enabling you to understand and analyze complex ideas and to present your ideas clearly and logically. This will give you a sound basis for a career in areas such as teaching, journalism, public service, research, advertisin­g and marketing, radio, television, commerce and businesset­c. Successful completion of the degree opens the pathway to postgradua­te study in the field of English studies up to PhD Level.

First time in Sri Lankan history, B A (English), B.Ed. B.Ed. in English (Hons) is exclusivel­y designed for teachers of English Language and Literature whereas B.Ed. in Physical Science ( Hons) is for prospectiv­e Mathematic­s teachers and the profession­als involved in the field of Education both in state and non-state institutes.

First time in higher education sector, CINEC introduces a Bachelor of Education in English and Bachelor of Education in Physical Science degrees. These degrees are especially designed for the teachers aspiring to pur- sue their career in stream of English and Physical science/ Mathematic­s. The prospectiv­e undergradu­ates of these programmes will be able to learn more about the profession­al subjects in teaching such as Foundation­s of Education, Psychology, Educationa­l Management, Measuremen­t and Evaluation, Guidance and Counsellin­g etc. along with the academic subjects pertaining to their relevant field of study.
