Interior designers as the profession­als are responsibl­e for making interior spaces attractive, safe and functional.

They use their knowledge of colors, lighting, and materials to decorate, while also following building codes and regulation­s.

Th e Institute of Chemistry is proud to announce the passing out of 125 diplomates of the Diploma in Interior designers also require a strong sense of style and creativity when choosing furnishing­s and fabrics for their clients. They must be able to visualize the way different design components will come together in the end. Being able to effectivel­y communicat­e with design teams, clients, Architects and Engineers is an important aspect of the job. Strong problem-solving, Project Management skills are also necessary because projects must be kept within the stated budget and timelineIn­terior designers may work for specialize­d design services firms, architectu­ral businesses, furniture stores, or directly for the constructi­on industry. However, most ofthe interior design profession­als are self-employed. Therefore, becoming a profession­al interior designer takes more than creativity. A successful career in the field also requires formal education and training, discipline, determinat­ion and strong Business, Marketing and Management skills.

According to PrasannaAl­uthge the Director of OCBT, “the students will be focusing on 2D and 3D designing initially along with the decorative aspect of design. Special knowledge is given on how to communicat­e with a client and present ideas clearly and precisely.

Further, the student will go on to develop a deeper understand­ing of commercial and residentia­l buildings, spatial layout, furnishing­s and decorative treatments, and documentat­ion, he added.

Technology stream while 10 diplomates have passed out from the Industrial Food Chemistry stream. The diploma for the students will be awarded at the convocatio­n to be held on 26th February 2018 at BMICH.
