India Education fair 2018

Facilitating the widest range of career assessment opportunities at the doorsteps, the latest edition of 2nd India Education fair 2018 would once again reach out to the students of Sri Lanka on 14 and 15 February, 2018, at BMICH,Colombo organized by “SAPE Events & Media Pvt. Ltd.” supported by the High Commission of India, Colombo, India- Sri Lanka Foundation and S R Global Services Pvt Ltd Sri Lanka which is bringing a delegation of around 20 Universities from India for conducting an Education Seminar and Fair at BMICH,Colombo from 10am to 6pm. The focus of the event will be to “invite students to study in India under various scholarships”.

Apart from bringing students and best of educational institutions under one roof, the event also helps the aspirants and the guardians have a detailed discussions about the facilities and fee structures of Indian institutions along with expert guidance. It also facilitates an easy comparison to help in making informed decisions, best suited as per individual needs.

Education is an important area of cooperation between lndia and Sri Lanka. Both countries have a shared legacy of intellectual, cultural, religious and linguistic discourse dating back to more than 2500 years. People to people contacts are at the core of this special relationship. ln recent years, a number of steps have been taken to encourage deeper and meaningful interactions between the two peoples. Educational linkages between lndia and Sri Lanka occupy a special place in this framework of interactions.

The proximity, cultural linkages, and world class lndian education at comparatively low costs have been a major attraction for Sri Lankan students. lndia also provides a large number of scholarships in various disciplines to further encourage and support Sri Lankan students in their quest for a better education. These scholarships are administered through the High Commission of lndia, in collaboration with Government of Sri Lanka. Last year, lndia offered more than 700 scholarship slots to deserving Sri Lankan students, at the”A” level, undergraduate, postgraduate and at research levels. ln addition, under the lndian Technical and Economic Cooperation Scheme

This “India Education Fair, Sri Lanka” will help in apprising Sri Lankan Youth about the opportunities available in India as well as give Indian Universities and Education Institutions an idea about opportunities available in Sri Lanka.
