Stafford Motors continue winning streak with another 300+ total

Centurions, Asantha Singappuli of Stafford Motors ( Stafford) and Thusitha Silva of PABC Bank ( PABC), stole the limelight in the ongoing 7th Prestige Automobile ( Pvt) Ltd., sponsored, ' BMWHyundai' Trophy, MCA ' C' Division 50- Over League Tournament 2018, continued last week.

The ‘ Honda boys’ continued to ride the fast lane for their 2nd successive win after 3 defeats, with a comprehensive 97- runs win over Standard Chartered Bank (SCB).

Asantha Singappuli finally found touch, as he scored a workman like 133 runs in 145 balls, inclusive of 4 sixes and 15 fours; Stafford went pass the 300 mark for the 2nd time- 317/9 in 50 overs; The Bankers overawed by Singappuli’s onslaught, went down tamely- 120 all out in 27.4 overs.

A sparkling 103 in 119 balls with 3 sixes and 5 fours by opener, Thusitha Silva, steered PABC to a close 3- wickets win, with 8 balls remaining, over Heshan Flexi.

In a low scoring game, Kanrich Finance ( Kanrich) ' B' had to fight all the way to beat Commercial Leasing & Finance ( CLF) by 3 wickets. CLF were helped by a splendid spell from Chandula Weeraratne ( 10- 0- 34- 5), to reduce CLF to 145 runs in 41.4 overs. Kanrich ' B', after a struggle, went over the line- 145/7 in 44.2 overs.

The tournament will be continued this week- end with a card of six matches.
