Over the years Sustainability awards has been looked upon by the corporate sector as an event where their contribution to society as responsible corporates are recognized.ACCA believes that sustainability in all forms is going to be the key growth factor in the future.

In this respect ACCA started this award 15 years ago changing the award to the market requirements as required, since then it has grown from strength to strength. Today we are proud to say this concept has been replicated in many jurisdictions and adopted in many forms. We have seen sustainability reports being looked at by investors when it comes to foreign direct investments.

We at ACCA believe that if Sri Lanka is to develop itself to become the true pearl of the Indian Ocean, businesses must come up with strategies that are not only viable but also sustainable in the long run. In this respect ACCA has conducted numerous training programs for the corporate sector.

This event is successful due to the Sri Lankan corporate sector which took the responsibility on themselves voluntarily to develop their sustainable reports even sometimes at a huge cost. This shows the commitment by the corporate sector for the sustainability agenda. It is paramount this should continue for the betterment of future generations. All of us need to take this sustainability concept seriously not only as corporates but as individuals also.
