Tailor-made Qualifications

ANC boasts a strong track record of producing thousands of graduates in collaboration with several universities renowned for excellence in research, innovation, and education. ANC had offered qualifications in psychology in close partnership with the Missouri University of Science and Technology for more than a decade before the State University of New York ( SUNY Empire State College) launched its psychology degree programme at ANC in 2015.

Dr Mojgan Shadbash, the Head of Psychology degree programmes at ANC, has facilitatedthe learning experience of hundreds of psychology graduates who either launched rewarding careers or opted to join world- class grad schools, including Cambridge University, Cornell University, and Yale University. Building on this experience, ANC worked with SQA and UWL to offer tailor-made qualifications to suit the demands of the modern workplace. Moreover, ANC’s close links with local industry as well as DrMojgan’s experience as a clinical psychologist ensure that this general psychology curriculum is designed in such a way that students are well prepared to find employment in government organizations, non- government organizations, and international corporations.

If you have already studied at tertiary level, you may be able to count it towards your Undergraduate Diploma in Psychology, which could save your time and money. It’s important you provide your counsellors with details of your prior learning experience at the enrollment. The exemptions are granted at the discretion of the academic head.

Course Overview

Students learn psychological principles, facts, and theories about individuals and groups, using experiential, observational, and case study methods.

Advanced Diploma in Psychology program introduces students to the field of psychology and careers related to psychology. Students also learn academic skills in psychology and research methods necessary for the subsequent courses to be taken, while improving their analytical skills and communication skills.

The second year curriculum introduces students to more specific areas of psychology, such as education psychology, social psychology, and cognitive psychology in addition to the theories of psychology and further research methods. This builds a solid foundation for further study.

The BSc (Hons) in Psychology (Top up) - Final Year offered by the UWL ( subject to validation) focuses on experiential learning that enables students to be prepared for a career. In addition to the dissertation submitted, students will have the oppor- tunity to complete an internship.

Course Assessment

Two third of this course will be assessed through coursework, giving students the opportunity to improve their skills and prove their mastery as they progress toward their qualification. This helps learners who may be weak in one area but possess strength in another. In addition to continuous assessments, students will complete a few written exams and the dissertation.

Supervised Internships

Psychology students are encouraged to have hands-on experience in an environment structured to support their learning goals. They gain experience, reflect on what they have learned, and apply new knowledge and skills during the internship period. Along the way, faculty advisors work closely with them and provide feedback to help them identify opportunities for further growth.

Past students have interned in a range of settings, including hospitalsNational Institute of Mental Health, National Hospital, Lady Ridgway Hospital, Army Hospital; educational institutions, Lyceum International, British School, Methodist College, ANC-MMI, to name a few;special education units; charity organizations; counselling/ awareness programs, and HR departments.

Opportunities for Advanced Learning

Upon successful completion of their studies, majority of ANC students opt for Master’s in Clinical Psychology, awarded by the University of West London ( UWL). They have the unique opportunity to complete both bachelor’s and master’s in Psychology within four years at ANC: they earn internationally recognized qualifications while saving up to 70% of the cost of reading for the same qualifications in the US and UK.

Endless Career Opportunities

With over one million bachelor’s de g rees confer red annually ( National Center for Educational Statistics 2017), Psychology is one of the most popular undergraduate majors: it is a highly flexible, marketable, and useful liberal arts degree and the knowledge and skills developed as a psychology major can be applied later along many career paths: management, marketing/ sales/ advertising, education, health care, career counselling, social work, child care. Students can also launch a prestigious career in research in a variety of settings such as academia, industry, government, social service agencies and nonprofits.

Learning Experience at ANC

Most courses at ANC are seminars, and two thirds have fewer than 25 students to emphasize the value of discussion-based learning and a small classroom environment. Through group projects and presentations, students are encouraged to work with one another to accomplish tasks rather than compete for the best grade in the class. Well qualified professors of ANC possess impressive work experience as well: they combine that expertise and their subject knowledge in classrooms. They are often sought after as consultants in their fields and truly the best out there for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies. In sum, every student walks away from ANC with a sense of accomplishment.
