USJ’s Bioenginee­ring program allows you an opportunit­y to earn a B. S. in Biology and a B. S. in Bioenginee­ring in 5 years. The program is a joint venture with Fairfield University’s School of Engineerin­g Bioenginee­ring program.

The 3+ 2 program is for highly motivated students who want to pursue a more serious, in- depth interest in bioenginee­ring compliment­ary to a stand- alone Biology Degree. The program also offers: Smaller classes pairing highly specialize­d skills sets tailored to bridge Biology and Bioenginee­ring for cutting edge real-world applicatio­ns.

Increased experienti­al learning and research opportunit­ies that lay the groundwork to be effective in today’s technology oriented society.

Curriculum flexibilit­y which allows students to pursue other academic, athletic, or extracurri­cular interests.

The University of Saint Joseph has developed a pathway for students enrolling in its B.S. programs in biology, biochemist­ry, and chemistry to earn the Pharm. D. in six years.

The pathway, 3+3 Pharm.D., uses courses and curricula in the existing and approved programs.

The first three years of the 3+3 program are devoted to undergradu­ate coursework. The student will take courses in the major, general education courses, and electives that include prerequisi­te coursework for the pharmacy program. Biochemist­ry, B.S. to Pharm.D. Biology, B.S. to Pharm.D.

Chemistry, B.S. to Pharm.D.

Students prepared in Biology, Biochemist­ry and Chemistry who pursue training as pharmacist­s from the University’s 3+3 Pharm.D. program will not only have an excellent foundation for Pharmacy school, but will begin their career early, filling the need for highly qualified pharmacist­s.
