Elton John to mentor young artistes

Sir Elton John is to take to mentoring up and coming artists after he retires from touring. Reports have emerged the 70 year will use his music management company to guide new artistes while he is also expected to work on some new musical projects. Sir Elton announced his retirement from touring in January. He is doing it with his Yellow Brick Road farewell tour which will last three years. The tour will commence on 8th September in Pennsylvan­ia in the US. Tickets for his first 60 shows in North America were sold out on 2nd February. More dates will be added later as he will tour Europe, South America, Asia and Australasi­a. ‘The Candle In The Wind’ hit maker will end his farewell tour with more than 300 concerts and is expected to earn over $400 million initially.

S rap artist Big Sean is set to build a luxury multiplex entertainm­ent centre in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan in the US. The 29 year old will gift the 1300 seat capacity complex under his real name The Sean Anderson Theatre in 2020. He has entered into a joint venture with Emagine Entertainm­ent as the complex is expected to feature a movie theatre and concert venue. Sean is meanwhile reported to be working on new music.

P op star Robbie Williams is set to take on the world’s fastest athlete Usain Bolt in a charity game of football later this year. The ‘Let Me Entertain You’ hitmaker will captain an England team while the Olympic champion Bolt will lead the world team at the charity match to take place on 10th June at the Old Trafford in Manchester, England. Williams and Bolt have jointly made an advertisem­ent for the event. Several celebritie­s and football legends are expected to participat­e in the charity event.

8 9 TW LW ‘Psycho’ debuted at No: 4 and features another rapper TY Dolla $ign. The song is Malone’s second UK top 10 hit and is a follow up to his No: 1 ‘Rockstar’ from 2017 which featured ‘Quavo.

J ustin Timberlake returned UK top 10 after two years as his new song ‘Say Something’ jumped from 22 to No: 10. The Country rock ballad features Country singer Chris Stapleton. Timberlake stays relevant with the new song as it received a popularity boost after he performed it at the Brit Awards recently. Justin begins the song accompanie­d on his acoustic guitar and is joined midway by Stapleton also playing an acoustic guitar. The song picks up with a 60 person choir during the chorus adding the rich flavour of an anthem. ‘Say Something’ is taken from Timberlake’s album ‘Man Of The Woods’.

It is also his 11th top 10 hit adding to a total of 20 UK top 10s including those where he is featured vocalist. His last big hit was ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ which peaked at No: 2 in 2016.
