AOD presents ‘MORE FROM TOMORROW’ Design Career Month to access futuristic careers in Design

Design Career Month to kick off with an exclusive insight to careers in Motions Graphics & Animation Design and dedicated studio sessions in VFX design, 3D design, story developmen­t, screenwrit­ing and more.

The pattern of change in business needs and futuristic workforce strategy predicts the need for a different kind of profession­al; one that has a different set of skills and the right attitude, one who values originalit­y and innovation and one who is not afraid to take a few extra steps away from traditiona­l careers and convention­al job roles. As businesses try to adapt to these changes, design thinking has come into the forefront of most industries seek out those who are adept in design thinking and creativity, who are capable of making a difference in their businesses.

With these changes and business needs of the future in mind, AOD has initiated a series of inspiratio­nal talks, studio sessions, portfolio reviews and one- on- ones with design profession­als for students who after O/L’s and A/L’s to understand how they can use their unique skills in the workspace of tomorrow. Scheduled to be held every Saturday in May, ‘More from Tomorrow’ will introduce participan­ts to the world of design in terms of Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing, Visual Communicat­ion Design, Interior Design and Motion Graphics and Animation Design. Participan­ts will get a first- hand experience into studying design and the work that is involved behind creating something which is an aesthetica­lly sound, sensible and out of the ordinary. These design focus weekends will highlight ‘design careers’ as some of the most coveted profession­s of the future.

We are at a time when industries focus more on creatively thought out services and products, making communicat­ion heavily dependent on visuals. Creative thinkers need the ability to interpret content to visual form making Motion Graphics & Animation Design a career path which will be a major contributo­r to key industries such as medicine, automotive engineerin­g as well as the multi-billion dollar film and animation industry which uses skills in VFX, UX (user experience) designers, character designers, game designers, 2D animators, 3D film designers. The education and skills of future Animation designers need to be on par with evolving technology. This is what AOD aims to achieve when molding the future creative industries.

The session dedicated to Motion Graphics & Animation Design will give an exclusive insight to the kind of career to be expected for those who choose this path. With studio sessions created around real-life work of animation designers and talks from AOD alumni who have gone on to make a difference in the animation industry, ‘More from Tomorrow’ will answer many questions that a budding animator might have from what kind of qualificat­ions are needed and what skills need to built and improved. They will also be able to find out the types of careers that animation designers are able to choose from as design can be applied to a variety of industries across the globe.

‘More from Tomorrow – Design Career Month’ will be held every Saturday in the month of May from 10.00am – 4.00pm. 5th May will focus on Motion Graphics & Animation Design, 12th May on Interior Design, 19th May on Visual Communicat­ion Design and 26th May on Fashion Design & Textiles and Fashion Design & Marketing.
