Sim Lab IT-Dialog launches live AR at E-Sports Championship

-

Sim Lab IT together with Dialog Axiata PLC is collaborating to launch live Augmented Reality (AR) at the Mercantile E-Sports Championship 2018 to be held at the Trace City Auditorium on July 21-22.

The solution on display will allow visitors to interact with their favourite dinosaur creatures, gaming characters and even the odd cloud passing by. In addition, audiences will be able to witness various elements and characters come to life by simply scanning the walls around them via the Sim Lab IT App and be able to walk around with these characters by scanning floor markers at the venue. In comparison to tra-

ditional video games ( Alternate Reality Gaming) ARGs may be inherently more social since players are required to interact with their surrounding and often encounter friends and fellow players during this experience, according to a media release issued by the organisers.

Supun Jay a sing he, Product Manager - Gaming Services, Dialog Axiata PLC said, “Through engagement we hope to create a unique experience enabling visitors and clients the opportunity to listen, watch and play with the characters on display. The solution aims to surprise, intrigue, educate and invite a response from

various target audiences. Our customised corporate solutions offer businesses the opportunity to explore the possibilities of using experiential technology for their products and services.”

Sim Lab IT Lanka’s CEO – Tiranjan Bulankulame, said, “At Sim Lab we are dedicated to bringing a range of immersive content to the masses and business enterprises in the country by providing 360 video content of live events by creating unique narrative experiences and deploying the full commercial potential of virtual reality, giving companies the opportunity to captivate audiences in an instant.”
