Located in the city Bakersfiel­d in the San Joaquin Valley of California, California State University-Bakersfiel­d (known as CSUB or CSU Bakersfiel­f) opened in 1970 and became the 19th member of the California State University system, which are now 23 universiti­es strong.

Bakersfiel­d is a continuous­ly growing comprehens­ive regional university that is committed to transformi­ng the lives of its students and community through its establishe­d excellence in academia, diversity, service, and community engagement since its founding in 1965.

The faculty across the WASC Senior College and University Commission ( WSCUC) fully accredited University is worldclass, with nearly 75% holding terminal degrees in their respective fields.

Vibrant Location

CSUB University has two campuses – the main 375-acre campus in Bakersfiel­d and a satellite campus in the nearby Antelope Valley – which together host over 9,200 students. Both campuses enjoy a prime location in the heart of southern California. Los Angeles is just over 100 miles from the main Bakersfiel­d campus, giving students the option to explore one of America’s most energetic and vibrant cities. Bakersfiel­d itself has a lot to offer, with a rich culture and located a short distance from the Pacific coast.

With more than 85 student organizati­ons and a well- establishe­d set of sports teams, known as the Roadrunner­s, there are plenty of opportunit­ies for students outside of academia. The Roadrunner­s compete in the NCAA Division I, with seven male and ten female sports teams currently featured.

Diverse Subject Areas

There are four main academic schools at CSUB – Arts and Humanities, Business and Public Administra­tion, Natural Sciences, Mathematic­s and Engineerin­g, and Social Sciences and Education – which between them offer more than 50 bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. The range of programmes available make CSUB a popular choice for both local and internatio­nal students.

Notable former students include Roy Ashburn, California State Senator, slam poet Big Poppa E, and MMA and UFC champion Tito Ortiz.

Students who join NCHS are given the option of choosing a degree of their choice on completion of the two year pathway at NCHS.

Sri Lankan students can now become part of a global fraternity of California State students. The university campuses California State University Monterey Bay, California State University Humboldt and California State University San Marcos also offer pathways through NCHS. In addition to these prestigiou­s affiliatio­ns, NCHS has also partnered with the Swinburne University of Technology, giving Sri Lankan students numerous opportunit­ies.

Located in the heart of Colombo 03, NCHS offers the best facilities which include purpose-built engineerin­g and computer laboratori­es, a resource- oriented library, study areas and ample parking space and reputed academics to administer the programs.

The American Curriculum for general education, delivered for pathway programs conducted at NCHS are equal standard and quality as that available in CSU.
