Dhammissar­a Central annex title

Dhammissar­a Central, Naththandi­ya registered a comfortabl­e 3- 0 win over Rajasingha Central, Ruwanwalla to annex the boys U- 19 DSI Supersport­s Schools Volleyball title at the finals played at the National Youth Services Council indoor courts on Saturday.

The winner took the first set 25-22 and continued the next two sets in the same breath recording identical scores. St. Xavior College, Marawila won the third place.

In the girls’ final, Anamaduwa Central trashed Rathanapal­a MV, Mahauswewa by 3-0 to win the girls title. The winner took the first set after a close battle 26-24 but had it easy in the second and third sets as they won them by 25- 18, 25- 20. Galigamuwa Central won the third place in the girl’s category.

Vidura Prabath of Rajasinghe Central was adjudged the best player in the boys’ segment while Preethika Pramodani of Ratanapala Vidyalaya adjudged best player in the girls’ tournament.

Players from Rajasingha Central, Ruwanwalla won the U- 17 boys’ final beating St. Xavior College, Marawila 3-0 ( 25- 21, 25- 21, 35- 33). Kavishka Madushanka of Rajasingha Central was the best player in the U-17 boys’ category.

Imbulana Sri Sena MV won the U- 13 boys title beating Royal College, Ruwanwella by 2-0 (21-8, 21-16). Iduranga Ratnayake of Imbulana Sri Sena MV was the best player.
