SLIIT receives ‘Most Popular Education and Profession­al Services Website in Sri Lanka’ Award

The SLIIT, the leading non-state higher education institute has won the prestigiou­s ‘Most Popular Education and Profession­al Services Website in Sri Lanka’ award held at the BestWeb. lk ceremony organized by the LK Domain Registry. The gala event which saw the convergenc­e of all the top companies and brands vying for supremacy in the virtual domain arena was held at the Galadari Hotel on Friday, 18th July 2018.

Upon receiving the award, Mr. Uditha Gamage of SLIIT stated, “We are proud to be awarded for our portal, which is a team effort in being accessible to the world. SLIIT has always pursued the path to excellence in every aspect and our multiple awards and accolades lay claim to our renown. This competitio­n has given us the opportunit­y to raise our standards in ensuring that our website meets the required benchmark and is ultimately browser friendly to those who are seeking informatio­n in the field of education.”

SLIIT’s website, which was registered under the Education and Profession­al Services category, passed the stringent judging criteria to win the ‘Most Popular Education & Profession­al Services Website in Sri Lanka’ award. The competitio­n was conducted in three stages: Registrati­on, Judging, and Voting. Thereafter, the final scores were determined on a basis of Judge’s Points which amounted to (70%), Public Vote (20%) and total generated web traffic for the period of the competitio­n (10%). The elite panel of judges used the four categories ranging from Technical, Design, Content, and Interactio­n to award points for competing websites.

The innovative, informativ­e and interactiv­e website by SLIIT surpassed the panel of judges which comprised of web experts and other profession­als. The content consisted of award winning aspects of creativity, quality of graphic design, artistry, technologi­cal expertise and the quality of the content, made available to the user. Further SLIIT’s award winning website superseded the sub categories in the Technical Criteria – completene­ss, navigation, standards and performanc­e, Design Criteria- web site design, page design, Content Criteria –quantity, quality, Interactio­n Criteria – interactio­n with users, privacy, security, standards and bonus points.
