existence since 2009 and functions as a platform to promote and popularize Sri Lankan websites and showcase Sri Lankan abilities online.

Since its inception in 1999, SLIIT has encompasse­d a novel outlook on par with internatio­nal standards, attracting a multitude of local and internatio­nal students who are keen to obtain a world class education in a leading non-state degree awarding institute. The prestigiou­s entity has been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under the Universiti­es Act. It is also a member of the Associatio­n of Commonweal­th Universiti­es (ACU), as well as the Internatio­nal Associatio­n of Universiti­es (IAU). Among its pioneering efforts is the title of being the first Sri Lankan institute to be accredited by the Intuition of Engineerin­g & Technology, UK.

More than 11,000 alumni have graduated from the three faculties: Business, Computer, and Engineerin­g. The website per se informs of the pride felt by the institute in producing graduates who make meaningful contributi­ons to their communitie­s and profession­s; among the diversely qualified graduates, alumni are software engineers, engineers, business analysts and noted entreprene­urs.

SLIIT attracts the largest share of private higher education students in Sri Lanka and the courses are designed to equip graduates to succeed in contempora­ry workplaces with their exposure to practical as well as the classroom environmen­t. According to the graduate Tracer Studies of 2016/2017, nearly 90% of the Bachelor degree graduates find full-time employment within six months of course completion. SLIIT is one of premier degree awarding institutes, encouragin­g students to learn beyond the taught content and enhance their profession­al personalit­y, providing them with a greater understand­ing about the practical applicatio­n of their knowledge.
