Amal International School Celebrates Annual Awards Day

Amal Interbational School celebrated its Annual Awards Day on July 28, 2018 at Ananda Kularatne Auditorium of Ananda College. The function was filled with some elegant talent shows of school students. Dr Harini Amarasuriya PhD - Senior Lecturer at OUSL graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while Mr. S.C. Weerasekara MBA ( Aus) - Group Director of Capital Maharaja Organization added extra glory to the event being the Guest of Honour. The Chief Guest and The Guest of Honour were given a floral welcome before they inaugurated the programme.The talented students presented mesmerizing cultural events such as choir, plays, folk singing etc. Mr. M. M. Shazuli, the Principal read the annual report of the school. He made the audience aware of the school’s achievements in academics and co-curricular arenas. He did not fail to thank his team players, the working staff by mentioning the names distinctly.

Prizes were given away to the toppers and other students who had brought laurels to the school in various competitions and contests. Addressing on the occasion Mr. S. C. Weerasekara, the Guest of Honour lauded and praised the school for raising the educational standard in the country by not focusing on just academic achievements. He also congratulated students, teachers, and the Principal for organizing the function successfully. Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, the Chief Guest appreciated the endeavours made by school teachers to bring up quality students. Further she emphasized that being a boys school, boys should be taught how to respect women and cope- up with strong women without any jealousy. At the end the Head Prefect master Ahzin Lafeer in his vote of thanks, thanked the chief- guest, dignitaries, and parents for having spared their time to attend the function. Several local media representatives had been present to cover this event.
