PickMe launches ‘PickMe Trucks’

-

PickMe, the taxi hailing service, recently launched ‘PickMe Trucks’ through its smartphone app.

The new service will now make the transportation of heavy goods on –demand, much more convenient safer and affordable for individuals and businesses in Sri Lanka, with the feature being available at the tip of their finger, the company said in a media release.

The latest addition to PickMe’s growing vehicle fleet comes in two categories— Light and Mover. The ‘Light’ category truck models come in 7 ½ and 8 feet sizes and includes lightweight models including ‘Dimo Batta’, ‘Dimo Lokka’, ‘ Yunimo Lokka’, ‘Tata Batta’, ‘Mahindra Maxximo’, ‘Tata super ACE’ and Bolero. Truck models in the ‘Mover’ category are Foton, Isuzu and Mazda that are 9 ½ and 10 feet in size.

Patrons who wish to use the feature can launch the PickMe app on their mobile phones and select the option ‘Trucks’ and thereafter the process would be similar to booking a taxi. Commenting on their latest development, PickMe CEO Zulfer Jiffry said, “This is the journey we have set for ourselves, to revolutionize the transportation sector in the country, which would benefit the people, business and ultimately the economy. Every ride request that we receive every minute of every day in this country is a stirring testament to the trust that we’ve earned from all stakeholders in such a short time.”
