Saegis Campus Joins Hands with Iconic Canterbury Christ Church University of UK

- - Dr. Gamini Padmaperuma Director Academic Affairs/Deputy Vice Chancellor Saegis Campus

Saegis Campus has joined hands with prestigious Canterbury Christ Church University ( CCCU) in the UK to jointly deliver their programmes. These collaborations are a result of a thorough due diligence process which involved a detailed analysis of financial, academic and infrastructural capabilities of the Saegis Campus along with the student support systems and personality development programmes that are in place.

The three CCCU programmes to be offered from September 2018 are two top-up programmes and an MBA programme. The two top-up programmes are BSc (Honours) in Business Management and BSc (Honours) in Computing, both are of one year duration. The entry qualifications to these programmes are SQA Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) in relevant disciplines or other equivalent qualifications, which are acceptable to the university.

The Canterbury Christ Church University and Saegis Campus will also jointly deliver an MBA programme which includes one core module, six optional modules and a management dissertation. Lectures on the MBA programme are delivered by prominent industry experts and academics. The duration of the programme is one year and lectures are held during weekends. Graduates having bachelor’s degrees with a second class or graduate level qualifications from recognized professional bodies such as CIM, CIMA and ACCA are eligible to join the MBA programme. A minimum of 2 years of postqualifying experience is required.

Establishment of the above collaboration with prestigious Canterbury Christ Church University is made amidst the recent recognition of the Saegis Campus by the Ministry of Higher Education and Cultural Affairs as a Degree Awarding Institute. This recognition can be consid- ered as a significant achievement for the Saegis Campus and marks a major milestone in relatively short history of the Campus, which was established in June 2013.
