-

A new chapter will be opened in International Education in the upcountry with the inception of APOLLO INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL managed by APOLLO LYCEUM INTERNATIONAL ( PVT) LTD.

The school is located at 119/ 11, Illukmodara, Gurudeniya on a land with an extent of over 4 acres in a physical environment with infrastructure highly conducive for the purpose of education. Backed by a Management team with a wealth of knowledge, strength and experience gained by founding and developing the Lyceum International Schools, this new venture will definitely be a blessing to the children and parents living in Kandy and its suburbs who wish to educate their children in the English medium.

Apollo International will be developed into a fully fledged school , with a competent staff utilizing modern technology and new concepts of student development. The school’s philosophy is to produce individuals who will not only fit into the future demands of the global job market, but also become assets and a blessing to society at large who will be happy and satisfied with their lives. For this purpose there will be the continuous development of generic skills ( soft skills including behavioral, emotional and interpersonal or social skills ) concurrently with subject specific intellectual development. Education will be provided within a Sri Lankan socio-cultural framework with special emphasis on religious and moral education.

Understanding the fact that each child is a different individual, the school will strive to discover and develop records of each child’s unique intelligence profile and skills set through a formative assessment process which will be carried forward during the primary stage of education and shared annually with the parents. This will enable the parents to understand their children in a pedagogical context to support them more effectively in secondary and tertiary levels of education and development.

Sports, and other co- curricular activities will be designed in a well structured scientific manner to support the total all round development of the students.

It is praiseworthy to mention that the school will have an affordable fees structure to serve the purpose and the first few students will be granted scholarships for free admission.

“Our beginning will be very humble. But our dedication will lead to giant strides in the future” comments Dr. Mohan Lal Grero, the Patron of Apollo International who is the Founder of the very successful chain of Lyceum International Schools.

“Apollo Lyceus, the son of great Greek god Zeus was recognized as a god of music, poetry, literature, truth, healing, sun and light and more. Apollo International will endeavor to lead young charges under its wings towards the light of lear ning, provide them with strengths of Apollo and lead them to self actualization”, expresses Dr Kumari Grero, a Director of Apollo International School who is the present Chairman, Managing Director and Coordinating Principal of the chain of Lyceum International Schools.

“The future man or woman in the child will be defined by how you handle the exponential growth of neuron connections in his or her brain at this very decisive young age. It should happen with happy learning experiences provided with the best emotional, social and cognitive support. Our duty is to provide enjoyable learning opportunities with a wide variety of exposure pertinent to each age group of children and this is what we’re trying to deliver at Apollo International school.” told Mrs. Dilmi Ratnayaka, Director of Apollo International School, present Director of Lyceum International school Wattala and present Principal of Lyceum International School Gampaha.
