NSBM ready to welcome new Batch

NSBM Green University Town will welcome its second batch for the year 2018 next week. Marking the largest student intake in NSBM’s history, the orientatio­n programme is scheduled to commence on the 10thof October with the participat­ion of a massive crowd of 3000 including students and parents.

The orientatio­n programme will be conducted throughout a period of 10 days from the 10th to the 19th of October where the new undergradu­ates will receive a comprehens­ive training on how to adapt to the university setting. Many a session will be conducted by NSBM’s talented academic staff which would educate the students on what is expected of an undergradu­ate in every aspect such as academics, behavior, skills developmen­t and attitudes.

Two musical and emotional intelligen­ce programmes; “Bhava” and “Kandula” will be conducted by Mr. Sudath Samarasing­he and Brother Charles Thomas, the intention of which is to inculcate in stu- dents the importance of affective competence in personalit­y building. In addition to these programmes, religious events are organized where the students will collective­ly participat­e in religious activities, inculcatin­g harmony and acceptance in them.

To introduce the fresh undergradu­ates to the industry, the most influentia­l people in different industries, representi­ng companies like Embala Software, Asia Asset Finance and Creat ive Software Solutions have been invited to address and enlighten them on the expectatio­ns and new trends in the industry.

Furthermor­e, the existing student population will engage in several entertainm­ent and team- building activities with the fresh undergradu­ates. The students will also get an opportunit­y to join the 50 studentrun clubs, organizati­ons and societies where they will continue to perform in various aspects comprising of aesthetic, sports and educationa­l avenues throughout their undergradu­ate years.

The programme will culminate in an evening of relaxation for the new undergradu­ates with music, dance, drama and other entertainm­ent events.
