Walkers Tours invites enthusiasts to be the next ambassadors of tourism
Walkers Tours Limited, a premier Destination Management Company in Sri Lanka, will be organising the Chauffeur Guide Training Program for the 4th consecutive year, partnering with the renowned training institute - Vision, for enthusiasts who are passionate about becoming a chauffeur Guide.
Nalaka Amaratunga, CEO of Destination Management Sector– John Keells Holdings said, “Programme aims at inducting quality chauffeur guides who are truly passionate in imparting their knowledge to tourists, which we believe would uplift the quality standard of the industry. With this objective in mind, we initiated this programme 3 years ago to bring in individuals outside the industry to be the next ambassadors of the country.”
The 20 applicants chosen will go through an extensive training programme over a period of six months, giving them the required knowledge and skills to become well certified chauffeur guides. The training will be in the form of classroom and practical sessions, virtual and familiarisation tours, as well as assessment centres. Applicants who are fluent in multiple languages are always encouraged to participate for this.
Upon successful completion of the program, the participants will receive a certification issued by the training institute, co- signed by Walkers Tours and Cinnamon Hotels. This initiative will encourage all participants to enter the Licence programme conducted by SLITHM, to obtain the Chauffeur Guide Licence approved by the Tourist Board.
The 4th batch will commence in January 2019. Applications should be sent to cgtraining@walkerstours.com on or before 25th November 2018. For further information on programme, contact Shehan on 076-3463233.
