-

The weather may have taken another icy turn however the fashion industry continues to convince us its summer. Premiere Vision AW 19-20 tradeshow, the world’s largest textile & fashion fairthat brings together the entire fashion industry which took place in Paris this September& we headed down to see what the new fabric and print trends for the future will be.

“The can’t-miss event to conceive and create your collections”

Visiting Premier Vision was a great opportunity for our students to understand how a large scale, international trade show runs and experience the vibrancy and buzz of global fabric and fashion trends!

We were able to witnessapproximately 740 weavers from 50 countries present collections in synergy with both the fashion calendar and the apparel industry demands. Our students saw new trends of fabrics, yarns &fibers, accessories, style and color ranges for the 2019-2020 Fall-Winter season!

“Visiting Première Vision was obviously something I’ve never experienced before & it was very overwhelming at first, but once I found a map of the venue, it was really interesting to see how it works up close, gaining some first-hand experience at a major event.” - Student Anne Jayawardene

S. Sachini, Lecturer of Fashion Design, adds: “This is the first- time students have had the opportunity to attend the Premier Vision trade show. We’d like to offer this as a tour every year. This would mean that our degree students get the opportunity to visit such important trade shows during their three years of study at Mod’Art International Sri Lanka Branch Campus.”

“We make sure our students are up todate with the world’s trends!”

For any career in fashion the understanding of the fabrics& trendsis a must, therefore our students having the exposure to Premier Vision trade shows during their degree study will definitely make them stand out &earn a good position in the industry easily!
