Softlogic Glomark, first flagship global supermarket opens
It had been one of the biggest challenges during the past two years of launching the first global supermarket in Sri Lanka with selected international brands and with exclusively selected local products for its customers. This was stated by Andrew Dalby, CEO of Softlogic Glomark at the launch of the Softlogic

Chairman asked him to discuss business opportunities and told him that
Softlogic was a retail champion in electronic goods and in fast foods but one piece was missing. “But that circle has been completed with the opening of the Softlogic Glomark today, a retail provider.” He said Softlogic Glomark will be a retail provider for the benefit of its customers.
Glomark is launched by Softlogic Supermarkets (Pvt) Ltd, a subsidiary of Softlogic Retail PLC under the parent group- Softlogic Holding PLC. As a consumer business, it has over 100 international brands marketed through the country’s distribution channels. Softlogic Glomark is expected to revolutionise modern retail trade in Sri Lanka with its unique global experience that it delivers. Glomark will provide the widest selection of items and the best technology for consumer experience and will introduce a series of firsts in the country. Chairman and Managing Director of Softlogic Holdings PLC, Ashok Pathirage who declared opened the Softlogic Glomark complex in the presence of the Australia’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Bryce Hucheson, in a statement said that it gives him pleasure in bringing global experience of Softlogic Glomark to citizens of Sri Lanka. Meanwhile Sri Lanka’s modern grocery retail sector has seen a robust growth with improving incomes, rising urbanisation and changing lifestyles which attracted more customers from traditional grocer channels. SoftLogic Holdings PLC is one of Sri Lanka’s largest diversified conglomerates.
