The introduction of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross SUV and the Xpander in Sri Lanka marks the expansion of its Small Utility Vehicle (SUV) models in the local market, United Motors Lanka officials said.

United Motors Lanka PLC, the sole distributor for Mitsubishi vehicles in Sri Lanka, launched two new models recently.

Two new vehicles have gained popularity globally in a short span of time due to its signature styling, technology, Ease of driving and performance, a top official of the company disclosed.

Buyers in the country preferring SUVS to sedans and hatchbacks is a massive growth opportunity for Mitsubishi in the island.

He also confirmed that the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross and Mitsubishi Xpander are in high demand among first time buyers.

The Eclipse Cross is a smart-looking compact, 5- seater crossover that gets bold styling with a front end inspired from the Outlander's, while the shoulder line is angled upwards sharply towards the rear and the tail lights are set high.

The SUV features a design that motivates the driver to experience the world, connectivity that inspires new fun adventures, and technology that delivers an enjoyable, reassuring feel that elevates the driving experience, he told the Business Times.
