Abans Auto Collaborat­es with Piaggio Group to launch Iconic Vespa and Aprilia Scooters in Sri Lanka

Abans Auto, the automobile retail arm of Abans Group, officially announced their appointmen­t as Piaggio’s exclusive authorized distributo­r, and the subsequent launch of the famed Vespa and Aprilia Scooters in October.

Being a symbol of freedom, spontaneit­y, and adventure for over 73 years, Vespa holds the unique distinctio­n of being the world’s first scooter. So, reflecting back on its Italian heritage and storied history, the latest Vespa lineup fuses its iconic design with innovative features that suit the rider of today. Each Vespa Scooter includes a MAP ( Manifold Absolute Pressure) Sensor that synchroniz­es the ignition timing with the engine speed and load for better fuel efficiency and higher power delivery. These bikes are available in attractive colour options as well as 150/125CC 3V tech engine. Other unique features include a monocoque steel body and aircraft-inspired single sided suspension that ensures a smoother ride.

Aprilia, on the other hand, provides the rider a performanc­e that adds the special “thrill” to his/her ride. Taking inspiratio­n from its illustriou­s legacy as a Grand Prix legend, Aprilia Scooters comes with powerful 125 and 154.8cc engine options as well as a telescopic suspension, which offers heightened efficiency when the scooter speeds up. The 14” alloy wheels with 120mm tyres and twin piston brake caliper with 220mm disc work in perfect cohesion to create the sensation of a smooth, thrilling ride.

Other features comprise of a mobile charging port and a digital meter.

Both Vespa and Aprilia are designed, developed and distribute­d by Piaggio, a world- renowned Italian automobile company that is Europe’s leading manufactur­er of motorized two wheelers.
