Why should teenagers plan for their life after school ?

-

In schools today nearly half of all students are reported as feeling stressed on a daily basis. This pressure is attributed to keeping up with strict class schedules, completing daily homework and regularly sitting for writtenexams. In an essence it alienates the child from preparing to face the realistic world that exists outside of the classroom.

This we call the “educational bubble”- where everything is standardized and highly regulated . Once a child leaves school they have to make their first big life decision …. “Am I going to get a job or continue with my higher studies ?” . Whether the decision is to join the professional world or the educational one - these youngsters come to soon understand that this new world is different . Itjudges you not based on your exam results , but instead your personal brand , cultural fit , performance drive , emotional intelligence and confidence to communicate. Interestingly such skills are not taught or emphasized heavily in our regular school system and so many new entrants struggle to fit in .

Decision making is a vital life skill and one that should be taught from an early age . We hear of children who have got fantastic results for the O/ L exams and yetselect the wrong subjects for the A/ L’s . Some of whom may end up failing to qualify for a degree . Others may start a course and half way lose interest or come to realize that the course they followed has limited scope in the country . All of this creates frustration, frustration derived from a lack of correct guidance and realistic understanding of what is out their .

It is to address this specific challenge that Modern Learning Studio Pvt. Ltd .willconduct a two day workshop called “SPARK” ; to help teenagers find their path and develop skills to succeed. The program focuses on three main aspects which is developing a growth mindset , understanding how to become and influential leader and finally communicate with confidence.
