‘Api Machan’ comes alive in Kandy

-

If you are someone who enjoys cover versions of our classical music of yester year then the name ‘ Api Machan’ shouldn’t be unheard of, entertaining everyone from the past three generations with this new brand of music. ‘Api Machan’ has already entertained and performed for audiences not only in Sri Lanka but also have toured and performed in several other countries as well.

‘Api Machan’ is a young singing band from Sri Lanka, which has peaked high in popularity within a short period of time due to its versatility in its presentation of cover songs of the Sri Lankan music stream.

Staying away from the commercially branded current music that produced on daily as well as the production of traditional classical music for the sake of creating, ‘Api Machan’ keeps the retro trend. ‘

Api Machan’ performs complete classics that everybody loves and enjoys for decades and gives it a new twist whilst maintaining the standards and qualities set forth by the original artistes.

They create the trend for not only retro lovers but present it to capture audiences of all age groups. ‘Api Machan’ introduces songs of yesteryear with its own unique twist that makes them that much more popular and enigmatic. They intersperse the background music with a touch of percussion and guitar to break the monotony and add that feeling of live band sound.

Catering to the audiences that love their brand of new music ‘Api Machan’ continues to tour the island and dish out fantastic music. The next live performance of this seven member outfit will be held on the 1st of December 2018 at the recently refurbished auditorium of St. Anthony’s College Kandy from 6.30pm onwards.

‘Performing hits of yesteryear that have not been heard by the current generation and providing these hits a new lease of life
