Nishan Silva appointed as Cluster General Manager in Dubai

After serving for three years as Pullman Dubai Creek City Centre General Manager, Nishan Silva was appointed as the Cluster General Manager for seven Accor Hotels properties in Dubai

They are Pullman Dubai Creek City Centre Hotel & Residences, Novotel Mall of the Emirates, Novotel Deira, IBIS Mall of the Emirates, IBIS Al Rigga and IBIS Deira, with a total room inventory of 1,667 Rooms, one of the largest hotel cluster operations in the UAE.

All seven properties are part of Accor Hotels – one of the world’s leading hotel operators with 3,900 addresses investing its energy in making the slogan “Feel Welcome” the finest hotel promise.

Nishan, an alumnus of Nalanda College, was also a member of his school’s cricket team which represente­d Sri Lanka in England. He took part in the Youth Asia Cup in Bangladesh and played first class cricket for the Sinhalese Sport Club.

Nishan started his career at Hilton Colombo as a management trainee and held various leadership positions from 1995-2012 in the Hilton Worldwide in Sri Lanka, Maldives, Malaysia and India.

In 2012, he moved to India to serve as the general manager of the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Hyderabad. He then served as the general manager of the Radisson Blu in Cebu, the Philippine­s until he joined Pullman Dubai Creek City Centre.

He holds a Diploma in Hotel Operations from the Internatio­nal Hotel Management Institute in Lucerne, Switzerlan­d and an MBA from the University of Leicester, UK. He is pursuing a doctoral degree at the California Southern University, with his research area being the impact of artificial intelligen­ce in hotel operations.

Nishan is married to Ruvini and theproud father of his daughter Ayanna. He is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilmot Silva from Maharagama.
