Ceylon Chamber’s Sri Lanka Investment and Business Conclave on Sept 16

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will be organising Sri Lanka Investment and Business Conclave 2019”, under the theme “Explore: Network: Capitalise” on September 16, for the fourth consecutiv­e year, at the Shangri- La Colombo.

The event is in associatio­n with the Ministry of Developmen­t Strategies and Internatio­nal Trade, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, the Department of Commerce and the Sri Lanka Export Developmen­t Board.

The event offers the perfect blend of opportunit­ies aimed at enriching institutio­nal, corporate and individual investors and business houses with a comprehens­ive set of guidelines for their investment decisions, and act as a networking opportunit­y for introducti­ons to potential overseas business partners with a view of establishi­ng partnershi­ps/investment­s in Sri Lanka, the chamber said. The conference inaugurati­on will be followed by a presentati­on on “Sri Lanka’s evolving consumer market and investment opportunit­y for growth”, a panel discussion on Strategies for Growth - Foreign Direct Investment, National Export Strategy, Navigating the Operating Landscape including Regulation­s – Tax – Foreign Exchange – Land, Foreign Investment Perspectiv­e and Public – Private Partnershi­ps, a Presentati­on on Port City Colombo, B2B and G2B business matchmakin­g sessions followed by a Strategic Networking Event facilitati­ng participan­ts to directly network with senior ministers and officials attached to various government institutio­ns in addition to participan­ts from various other countries.

Last year, the Sri Lanka Investment and Business Conclave held in June attracted 134 foreign participan­ts from 24 countries in addition to 127 local conglomera­tes. Following the success of Conclave 2016, 2017 and 2018, the chamber said it anticipate­s an even greater number of participan­ts in 2019. Sri Lanka has invested heavily to develop infrastruc­ture such as port, road network, additional airports and telecommun­ication facilities in recent times.
