Gota shows his force at A’pura kick off rally

-

Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is the man who came from the cold with a vision to kickass the nation from its slumber to rouse it into action, to instill discipline into their lives to turn the populace into a full-fit fighting force, a nation marching in unison keeping beat to a single drum.

He had been a commissioned officer of the Sri Lankan Army during the terrorist war. As the new millennium dawned the travel bug had bitten him and he had taken flight to the United States. In 2003 he was given American citizenship. Thereafter, he was purely a citizen of America and no other country. In 2005 when his brother Mahinda was chosen as SLFP’s presidential candidate he flew to Lanka on a tourist visa. After helping his brother to be voted into office, Gotabaya decided to remain in the country as his Defence Secretary directly serving his brother and was granted dual citizenship. He gave leadership in the war against Tamil terrorists and when the forces finally killed and destroyed the LTTE he became a national hero.

Today he stands as the chosen one by his brother Mahinda Rajapaksa as SLPP’s presidential candidate. He launched his inaugural rally from Anuradhapura. There he gave voice to the ambitions he held for Lanka. Addressing the massive crowd that stormed the Salgado Grounds to hear him speak he declared his promise. He would safeguard the country as long as the people keep their promise on November 16th. He added that following his appointment as the president he would cancel all the micro-finance loans, agriculture loans and the loans of the people of this country. He ensured that he would promise to build a prosperous country, where the future generations will be proud.

He had come from a distant land, he had crossed the Rubicon. He had come, he had seen and now he wished to conquer.
