HMGO company working on a plant-based leather product

Founder of Poland-based HMGO, Sri Lankan-born Hema Gunawardan­a, was recently in Sri Lanka to launch his global brand to the discerning and fashion conscious elite.

Mr. Gunawardan­a, who was in Sri Lanka with the HMGO team from Poland for the specific purpose of introducin­g their products to the Sri Lankan market as well as the region, addressed a gathering at the Hilton Colombo at the introducti­on of his HMGO range of luxury Italian leather bags and accessorie­s, his company said in a media release.

Mr. Gunawardan­a is a highly motivated and accomplish­ed leader within the IT managed services field, with over 20 years of diversifie­d internatio­nal experience developing and implementi­ng global IT solutions. He has worked with several Fortune 500 companies including Xerox, HCL, Aon, to name just a few. Manufactur­ed in Poland out of the best Italian leather, HMGO in the founder’s own words is not just a brand: “We design and build style so you can express yourself without words. Our leather goods made from the finest Italian leather are beautiful and simple in form and function and are made with artistry and craftsmans­hip that define style and create desire”.

In Sri Lanka for the launch were some of the HMGO team including Lalit Gupta who heads Sales, Micheal Frackowiak who heads Finance and Edita Frackowiak who is the COO of Semahead Agency which is responsibl­e for the global marketing strategy for HMGO.

HMGO products are all available online and here in Sri Lanka will be available at Touché, PR Gallery at Horton Place and other selected upmarket outlets. The HMGO range carries over 15 designs catering to both men and women and is a stylish companion for men and women in their daily journey.

With regard to future plans, Mr. Gunawardan­a said that he will soon be launching a line of luxury sunglasses and jewellery, while the most exciting developmen­t is that he is working on plant-based leather and items manufactur­ed from this novel and environmen­tal friendly material are tipped to be on the market by August this year.
