RCSS ranked high among top global think tanks in 2019 global index report

For the third consecutiv­e year the Regional Centre for Strategic Studies (RCSS) has been listed as the number one think tank in Sri Lanka and among the top ten think tanks in South Asia within its categories in the ‘2019 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report’.

The highly recognised Global Go To Think Tank Index Report is compiled by The Think Tanks and Civil Societies Programme (TTCSP) of the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvan­ia. TTCSP is a globally renowned programme that conducts research on how think tanks and policy organisati­ons contribute to influence policy discourses, and influence the opinions and policies of government institutes and civil society in general.

The latest Report was released on January 27 and is based on data collected from a total of 8,248 Think Tanks around the world for 20182019.

RCSS has been ranked in the following categories: ‘ Top Think Tanks Worldwide (US and Non- US)’ – 1st in Sri Lanka, 8th in South Asia and 132nd Worldwide; ‘ Best Regional Studies Center’ – 1st in Sri Lanka, 1st in South Asia and 34th Worldwide; ‘ Top Defence and National Security’ – 1st in Sri Lanka, 6th in South Asia and 79th Worldwide; ‘Best Think Tank Conference’ – 1st in Sri Lanka, 2nd in South Asia and 37th Worldwide; ‘Best Use of Social Media and Networks’ – 1st in Sri Lanka, 3rd in South Asia and 45th Worldwide; ‘Best Think Tank Network’ – 1st in Sri Lanka, 2nd in South Asia and 51st Worldwide; ‘ Top Fo r eign Po l i cy and Internatio­nal Affairs Think Tanks’ – 1st in Sri Lanka, 3rd in South Asia and 80th Worldwide.

For the past 28 years, RCSS has been actively encouragin­g research, dialogue and networking on a broad range of convention­al and nonconvent­ional sources of conflict and conditions of peace.
