Australian College of Training in Hospitality (ACTH), a reputed institute in Negombo, is encouraging students to pursue their ambitions in the hospitality industry by continuing to offer quality education to students online. ACTH is persistent in delivering undisrupted training for students despite the volatile situation we are currently in. Mr. Peter R. Fernando, the proud owner of ACTH with the help of his staff has created an online portal that enables students to access Hospitality courses at the touch of a button.

ONLINE HOSPITALITY TRAINING

ACTH provides internationally recognized Hospitality Soft Skills ‘Short’courses that include training students in Professional Bartendering, Waitering, Food Safety and, prepares students to work as Master Baristas in Sri Lanka and overseas. ACTH has partnered with well- recognised institutions such as McGraw Hill University USA, Institute of Hospitality ( IOH) UK, Tertiary Vocational Education Commission ( TVEC) Sri Lanka and, Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) to offer an internationally recognised UK qualification in Hospitality that is within the Australian Qualifications Framework and, is on par with the industry requirements. Passionate individuals who have met the prerequisites of the course now have the option of registering themselves online. Most of the courses are for a duration of a month or two in which students learn how to employ their soft skills to fit the job at hand. The lectures which are conducted via

Skype and Google Classroom are also paired with interesting videos, images, lecture notes and ‘ Workbook activites’. Therefore, students are guaranteed to have an interactive lecture and also a practical training session.

Moreover, ACTH has gone as far as to develop a Google Android Study Web App for its students. Thereby, making it easier for students to enroll, access study materials, and even make payments online. At the end of the course, students face an examination which they can take online. Students who have successfully passed the examination are awarded internationally recognized certificates that would help them progress in their careers.

ONLINE TEACHER TECH TRAINING

Mr. Peter R Fernando has recognised the importance and the influence the online world has on teaching. The newly introduced Online Teacher Tech Training exposes educators to online teaching and provides assistance on navigating through multiple online platforms that would prove beneficial to the Educational institute, teacher and student. The course is available on both Weekdays and Weekends for anyone who is keen on polishing up their teaching skills and embracing the digital world.
