Hawaii Night for Freshman organised by Students of ANC Branch Campus Colombo
SQA Advanced Diploma & UWL Final Year Top Up students
The Student Council Members successfully organised fresher’s night event “Aloha” themed Hawaii for all the freshman students that joined the Advanced Diploma Programme of Scottish Qualification Authority ( SQA) and Top- up Degree Programme of University of West London at ANC Branch Campus Colombo.
Over 95 participants attended the Hawaii Night which was held at the Roof Top lounge at Colombo Branch Campus. The venue was decorated with hand painted art and designs to suit the Hawaii deco. All the students were adorned with floral shirts and gowns that matched the Hawaii outfits which created a wonderful new experience for all the students.
The event was compeered by the student council members and there were two exciting dance performances and a singing performance by the students that added much glamour to the night. The DJ opened the dance floor with favorite beats to continue the rest of the night with a lot of dancing, socialising among fellow colleagues and a delicious dinner to end the fabulous night.
“It all went really well, and we all helped each other as a team, it was their individual effort that made it all possible. I remember we made almost 100 flower garlands to adorn our fresher’s who were so elated to wear them as they walked into the venue.
All the boys helped with the deco and the girls made the garlands. We created wonderful memories planning, organising and executing this event and I’m so proud what we accomplished to make it a success” – President of the Student Council, Dianne Hettiarachchi joined after A/ levels from Holy Family Convent for the Advanced Diploma Programme in Business at ANC Branch Campus Colombo.
