Saegis Campus Leo Club Installation Ceremony ends in a positive note
The 5th installation Ceremony of Leo Club of Saegis Campus for 2021/22was held successfully last Saturdayon the Zoom virtual platform in the presence of the Chief Guest District President Leo Navod Kiriwaththuduwa,Guests of Honour of the Occasion - Vice Chancellor of the Saegis Campus Prof. Nalaka Jayakody, Past District President Leo Praminda Vindika , Academic Affairs Director, Senior Professor W.G.D.Dharmaratne, Leo Club Advisor PDG Lion Kamal Seneviratne PMJF, Staff Advisor Mr. Benjamin Jegenathen,District Chairman for Leos Lion Anura Goonatilleke, Special Guest -Past Multiple District President Leo Lion Kesari Seneviratne, Past District President Leo Mudith Jayasekara,Past District President Leo Lion Kasun Lokugamage,District Secretary Leo Naveen Dharmasiri,District Treasurer Leo Dulan Wickramarathna ,Multiple Council officers , District Council members,members of the staff, Special Guests and Leos.
The outgoing President Leo Thisuri Nisalyathanked all the members and the Campus staff for the continuous support. She acknowledged the full scholarship that she received from Saegis Campus and appreciated the magnanimity of Mr. Bandra Dissanayake, the Chairman of Saegis Campus.She further added that the Club was able to carry out more than 40 projects during the lock down while maintaining a high standardin planning and conducting projectsindividually and jointly with the Leo District, Leo Multiple District,and International Leo Clubs.
The Secretary went on to say that Leo Club of Saegis Campus was awarded as one of the five emerging Leo Clubs of Leo District 306 A2 at the Midyear review. Also, the Club President of Leo Club of Saegis Campus became the Leo of the month - November of Leo District 306 A2 as well as appreciated by the Past District Governor at the Lions Convention held. It is noteworthy to mention that the Club has produced a number of Leos, and some of them are performing well in the Leo District and community-based Leo Clubs at present.
Speaking at the event Professor Nalaka Jayakody mentioned that he strives to take Saegis Campus to the next level maintaining the highest academic & professional standards par with global universities.
The theme of the event was titled ‘Profailnatism’: the art of embracing failure and using it as motivational fuel to ultimatelysucceed and achieve one’s goals. The following office bearers were installed at this event:
